Gifted Math Students in My Regular Classroom: What Do I Do? (Grades K-8)

Gifted math students are a delight in our regular classrooms.  But, how do we meet their unique needs? What does the research say? What materials can we use to provide challenge? What games and activities will enhance growth of their unique gifts and talents?  What do they (and their parents/guardians)  expect from us?

Please join Jackie Drummer, Past President of the WI Association of Gifted and Talented, and gifted and talented resource coordinator and teacher for 27 years, as we explore this topic. We will use the “gifted hive-mind” technique, so please bring at least one activity, game, or resource to share with the group — and be prepared to demonstrate — so that we can all grow from each others’ expertise.

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
