This session will be led by  Dr. Terrance Scott, a professor and distinguished university scholar at the University of Louisville where he directs the Center for Academic and Behavior Research.  Terrance M. Scott, PhD, began his special education career as a counselor in a residential treatment center adjudicated adolescent boys. After receiving his master’s degree in special education he taught in self-contained classrooms and directed public school programs for students with emotional and behavioral disorders.

Join the Allies in Autism Education teams as we look beyond labels and learn more about how to support positive behaviors in all of our students.

Workshop objectives

Ø Participants will increase their understanding of strategies to encourage positive behaviors in classrooms.

Ø Participants will increase their understanding of how to support students with emotional and behavioral challenges.

Ø Participants will develop their appreciation for the need to identify functions of challenging behaviors in order to teach replacement
behaviors.

K-12 regular education and special education teachers, behavior specialists, student service providers, school district administration, district
administrators

Registration fee:

Ö $50 per person (includes materials and continental breakfast)

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full conference fee refund to be issued (full refunds do not include service fees. Service fees are nonrefundable).Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
