Academic and Career Planning, or ACP, is a student-driven, adult-supported process in which students create and cultivate their own unique and information-based visions for post secondary success, obtained through self-exploration, career exploration, and the development of career management and planning skills. The initial session, held in February, focused on the requirements of ACP.  Additionally, a demonstration of Career Cruising was provided.

This session will provide participants the opportunity to clarify any components of the Education for Employment administrative rule and/or any requirements of ACP.  Participants will engage in discussion with other attending districts on strategies planned and will have the opportunity to work on their district's ACP Implementation Plan.  Examples from districts participating in the ACP Pilot may be viewed.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Participants will discuss how the revised Education for Employment (E4E) Plan requirement meshes with ACP.
  2. Participants will explore rstrategies for ACP implementation.
  3. Participants will have time to work with colleagues on the development (or refinement) of their district's ACP Plan.
