Special education, in cooperation with CESA 10 Title 1, will outline the basic elements of reading to improve literacy outcomes. Special Education Directors Deb Delyea and Misti Trowbridge, and Title I Consultant Leah Ahneman will assist teachers in using basic elements of reading to develop measurable IEPs that target specific reading deficits.
• Introduction to basic elements of reading
• Where and how to collect reading data
• How to use the data to make decisions
• How to develop a PLEP using data
• How to develop annual goals and benchmarks that show progress
Participants should bring an IEP, supporting reading assessments, and reading data collected in district. Work time will be given to participants to develop an IEP using the above information.
Target Audience: Special and general education teachers, CESA 10 Title I participating districts, school collaboration groups, principals
Cost: No charge to CESA 10 CSPD (Comprehensive System of Personnel Development) member school districts and CESA 10 Title I participating districts; $50 to non-member districts.
