Semester 1 of 2*

This cohort graduate seminar focuses on coaching essentials for mentors, peer coaches, teacher leaders, and administrators in schools. This course is the introduction to a 2-part series, each consisting of 3 graduate credits through Edgewood. The first course will focus on effective coaching practices, strategies for all conversations, and methods for creating a culture of change. The second course will focus on how to create a mindset shift using data, assessment, and evaluation.

We will highlight conversations in literacy, math, and technology throughout the course. However, participants will learn approaches and gather tools for all situations, all content areas, and all grade levels. This course is organic to the members of the cohort and will drive conversation topics and content. Assessments will be flexible to the needs of the members, and thus all will have the opportunity to personalize their learning for immediate application.

License renewal bonus: If one chooses to participate in both classes, they will earn the 6 credits needed for licensure renewal. Furthermore, those using the PDP model will receive a 3-5 year planning template they can use towards their coaching goals.

Format: Blended learning: 3 face-to-face sessions with online modules.
