Best Practices in the Assessment of English Language Learners for Special Education” provides participants with practical training in evaluating and identifying English Language Learners suspected of having a disability in a way that incorporates research and best practice through the lens of due process requirements. With the growing number of ELL students in our buildings, it is important we approach the referral process a bit differently for these students as we must address the unique factors that may be contributing to academic difficulties. Participants will leave with a wealth of information to further their learning as well as ways to apply much of the information learned in a practical fashion. Practicality is the theme of this training. Over 100 resources will be provided, including reproducible, procedural documents, report writing samples, and templates.
2-Day Workshop February 1, 2016 & March 14, 2016
8:30—3:30 (registration to start at 7:45 both days)
Cost to attend: FREE We will be offering one(1) Graduate Credit for this workshop at an additional Cost of $200.
Participant Cancellation Policy:
You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
Dietary Restrictions:
Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.
Weather Conditions:
