Day 1 - Best Practices with Authentic Tasks and Assessments

Participants will learn about research-based best practices in mathematical instruction, focusing on a student-centered classroom. Participants will experience examples of authentic tasks and assessments based on the math practices of the Common Core State Standards and learn how to develop and use authentic tasks and assessments to increase student engagement and understanding in middle school classrooms.

Day 2 - Catching Them Before They Fall

Leverage strategies to identify and react to common struggles in Tier 1 universal curriculum of middle school math.  Learn about interventions being used in local school districts and the greater math community to serve students.  Participants will also be sharing their best practices with colleagues.
