You must be certified in Non Violent Crisis Intervention in order to attend this refresher workshop!

This new training supports a proactive approach that enhances the use of non-violent communication and a safe, non-harmful 
behavior management system designed to provide the best possible care, welfare, safety and security of potentially disruptive,
assaultive, or out-of-control students while insuring the safety of staff and other students. This workshop is designed for
administrators, paraprofessionals, teachers and other school personnel in contact with potentially disruptive students.

Workshop Objectives:
Strengthen participant’s understanding of Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)
Develop an understanding of autism spectrum disorders that helps staff member understand why behaviors occur, how to prevent behaviors from occurring, how to appropriately intervene, and how to structure the post-vention process
To expand on the CPI Crisis Development Model and explore appropriate adaptations and interventions at each level
Apply and practice the additional content as it relates to NVCI program
To provide Care, Welfare, Safety and Security of the staff and the individuals they support

Teacher Standards
WES5The teacher uses an understanding of individual and group motivation and behavior to create a learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.
WES6The teacher uses effective verbal and nonverbal communication techniques as well as instructional media and technology to foster active inquiry, collaboration, and supportive interaction in the classroom.
WES9The teacher is a reflective practitioner who continually evaluates the effect of his or her choices and actions on pupils, parents, professionals in the learning community and others and who actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally.
WES10The teacher fosters relationships with school colleagues, parents, and agencies in the larger community to support pupil learning and well being and who acts with integrity, fairness and in an ethical manner.

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a refund if they cancel prior to 3 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Cancellations must either be made on MyQuickReg or by emailing cancel@cesa2.org. Because of our commitment to the presenter and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 3 working days prior to the event or who do not attend the event, will be billed the full fee. CESA 2 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via phone and email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. 

Inclement Weather Policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 2 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been cancelled due to weather conditions.

In-Person Events: Restrictions on our in-person events due to COVID-19 have been lifted. We will be responsive to what's happening within our communities, and guidelines from the CDC and local health agencies for future offerings and will update guidelines when necessary.
