9:00      Introductions & Favorite Books
Please bring one book that you enjoyed reading and one book that you recommend to students. Be prepared to give a short description of each and reasons why you recommend them.

9:45      How does your IMC staff select books that go with the curriculum?

• What does your district selection policy say? **
• Criteria to use when recommending fiction vs. non-fiction selections
• Where can you find reviews and recommended lists?
• e-books: how to access and use
• DVDs and streaming video resources
• Other IMC policies:  weeding, reconsideration, donations **

** Please bring a copy of your district's Media Center policies including selection, weeding, donations, and reconsideration.

11:00     BadgerLink: Teaching Books, ECB VideoLink, Soundzabound
11:30     Discussion:  What skills do you bring to your job?  What skills would you like to acquire to improve your work?  What are ways to acquire these new or expanded skills?
12:00     Lunch
12:45     Small group sharing and discussions of issues by grade levels. Groups will also alternate taking time to experiment with ebooks, Badgerlink, and other online resources for students.
2:15      Whole-group sharing of discussion topics and resources
2:45     Evaluations and planning for next year

CESA 5 registration fee: $ 40
** Registration fees waived for participants who register by Thursday, November 4 from full-service ITSS districts: Adams-Friendship, Columbus, Montello, New Lisbon, Pardeeville, Portage, Poynette, Randolph, Rio, Rosholt, Sauk Prairie, Wisconsin Dells.
Registration deadline is Monday, November 8.   Please submit purchase order or check to Janet Gaber, CESA 5, P.O.Box 564, Portage, WI 53901.

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
