The Network: Research to Practice
**Monthly Interactive Webinars Series**

These webinars will focus on schools and research that are making a difference in Wisconsin by highlighting strengths and success stories of those addressing racial disproportionality. The series is designed to create a collaborative learning environment that highlights current practices and innovative strategies for addressing racialized achievement gaps and promotes equity for every student.
Each month’s topic of conversation will be facilitated by staff from the DPI, RtI Center or WSPEI. Webinar topics will include:

  • Overview of Disproportionality
  • Understanding Disproportionality Data
  • Learning Disability (LD)
  • Intellectual Disability
  • Speech or Language Impairment
  • Emotional Behavioral Disability
  • Focus on Discipline: Reducing Disproportionality
  • Engaging Families of African American Learners
  • Engaging Families of Hispanic/Latino Learners
  • Culturally Responsive Practices in Assessment

There is NO cost to participate in the webinars unless you take them for two (2) Graduate Credits, which are available through Viterbo University at a rate of $590.

Webinars will address SPP Indicators 4B, 9 & 10 and InTasc Teacher Standards 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 & 8. Participants will be able to link this content and participation directly to personal SLO’s and/or the school-level SLO’s.

Participant Outcomes

  • Increased capacity of district personnel to examine practices for identifying students.
  • Increased capacity of district personnel to examine practices for engaging families.
  • Increased opportunities to collaborate and learn with DPI consultants and other LEAs district personnel.

University Credit

  • 2 Credits are available through Viterbo University.
  • Certificates of completion will be provided at the end of each webinar.
