Integrating career development into the curriculum not only helps students answer the question, “What do I want to be when I grow up,” it also makes the curriculum more relevant. Career-focused activities enable the student to see why information and knowledge is necessary and how it is used in a work setting.
During this interactive, hands-on workshop, we will try out many career-focused activities that are appropriate for any content area and/or grade level. We will also explore the many features of WISCareers, including the ILP/ePortfolio and identify how this on-line resource can be used as a classroom tool.
Join us for a day filled with activities. You will leave with ideas, tools, and resources to more easily include career development into your course content.
What to Bring: Please bring a laptop that has internet accessibility.
(We will be using WISCareers and other on-line resources). Also bring an extension cord or power strip & Career Development resources that you use to share with the group.
Questions: Contact Wanda Williams, williamsw@cesa5.k12.wi.us, 608-742-8814, Ext. 273.
