WOW: Working on the Work of Educator Effectiveness

This is a four-part series of events sponsored by the DPI EE team and offered at CESA 10 during the 2015-16 school year.

WOW Session 2:  Building Expertise Part I---Anchor speaker:  PETER DEWITT (Visible Learning for Teachers).  

This is the second of a four-part series intended to deepen understanding, achieve consensus, and build strategies around local implementation of Educator Effectiveness.  Each event will utilize a combination of on-site and virtual participation strategies to guide local, regional, and state collaboration between educators at CESAs across Wisconsin simultaneously.  Recommended team size is four to six.  Each WOW event builds upon information and teamwork from the previous session.  Team members are, therefore, requested to commit to four dates (the full series) when registering.

Topics:  Culture/mission and our moral imperative, supporting teacher and leader PD with an eye on student achievement, self-assessment, simple data analysis, school VA reports, Beginning of the Year EE tasks and the connection to continuous improvement and betterment.

Outcomes:

• Build distributive leadership capacity in teachers and leaders.
• Provide clear and consistent statewide messaging.
• Develop concrete school level plans to implement EE for continuous improvement.
• Build repertoire of instructional and instructional leadership strategies.

Each event of this series will be offered on two different dates.  Session two will be offered on October 7, 2015, and October 12, 2015.
