The CESA 5 License Renewal and Support Center is working with the Department of Public Instruction to facilitate the transition to full implementation of PI 34. If you received your teaching license prior to August 31, 2004, then you are grand fathered into the new system as a “Professional Educator,” which means that you can continue to take six credits every five years or you can use the new Professional Development Plan (PDP) tool provided by DPI to renew your license. Under the new system, you are no longer required to take six credits every five years. Instead, you can document your learning, both inside and outside of the classroom, by using the PDP tool.

If you received your license after August 31, 2004, then you are considered an “Initial Educator” and you must use the new Professional Development Plan tool to renew your license. Both “Professional Educators” and “Initial Educators” are welcome to attend this full-day workshop.

Wisconsin Teacher Standards Addressed: All 10 standards addressed at this workshop.
At this workshop you will have the opportunity to review the PDP form and learn about an on-line PDP tool. You will be able to look at sample plans, and actually start writing your own plan with the assistance of trained PDP reviewers. To make the most of this “hands on” session, participants should bring a laptop computer with word processing capabilities and wireless internet access (internet access is only necessary if you wish to use the online tool).

CESA 5 PI-34 Consortium Members may begin the process of having their PDPs reviewed this day at no additional cost. Non-Consortium Members can have their PDPs reviewed for an additional $175.

Early bird discount! Can deduct $25.00/per person if you are registered before August 28, 2009.

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
