Social Studies - Wisconsin Geographic Alliance

Use GIS and geo-technologies in your classroom this fall!   

Up your classroom game with cool geo-technologies! Earn an inexpensive grad credit or two if you wish!  Learn some great Google mapping tools, work with student-friendly geo-visualization programs, and acquaint yourself with classroom-perfect online GIS!  The Wisconsin Geographic Alliance (WIGA) will provide a great day of guided practice and school year-ready strategies – plus fun conversation and networking, useful handouts, some WIGA swag, and even great door prizes. 

Earn one grad credit for the reduced rate of $90; earn a second credit by completing a reflection assignment and submitting a classroom lesson plan for $170 more.  Graduate Credit(s) available through Edgewood College (pending approval).  

Who should attend: Any K-12 teachers interested in utilizing geo-technologies in their classrooms. 

Cost:  $40, includes light breakfast and lunch

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
