This two day workshop will address the concept that “two heads are better than one” in today’s classrooms! It is designed to energize a district’s professional staff as they strive to implement the instructional strategy of co-teaching. Participants are encouraged to attend with their current or potential co-teaching partners. For training content questions, please contact Mary O'Brien at obrienm@cesa5.org. For registration and payment questions, please contact Kristina Johnson at johnsonkr@cesa5.org. Please see attached flyer for more information.
Viterbo Credit Available for an additional fee to be paid at the event.
Explore the benefits of building successful co-teaching partnerships.
Increased achievement for all students is dependent upon solid universal classroom learning structures. Co-teaching is one collaborative structure that supports the successful incorporation of diverse student populations into our classrooms. Co-teaching promotes shared responsibilities in the areas of differentiation, universal design for learning (UDL), and accommodations appropriate to grade level learning targets.
Discussions and activities with Barbara Hilliker will focus on such topics as:
· Developing, assessing and sustaining co-teaching practices at the district and building levels
· Understanding the relationships between co-teaching, response to intervention (RtI) and differentiation of instruction
· Implementing a variety of co-teaching role options
· Appreciating the expertise that each team member brings to a partnership
· Developing a co-teaching vision between partners; and planning as co-teaching partners
· How to schedule partnerships
