We will discuss the use of all three tools, similarities and differences of the tools as it relates to eligibility, program planning, and intentional individualized planning.  Participants will take away knowledge of each tool and how to use it.

  • The DP-3 is a parent interview format norm-referenced tool that can reliably evaluate a child’s overall development as part of special education eligibility.
  • The DAYC-2 is an individually administered, norm-referenced measure of early childhood development.  Again, it can reliably evaluate for special education eligibility.
  • The DECA-P2 is a behavior rating scale that is completed by parents and teachers and provides an assessment of within-child protective factors related to resilience as well as a screener for behavior concerns in children ages 3 through 5.
