The scope of this session is K-12.

This day will not be a traditional workshop or training. It will involve groups of teachers working on assessments, lessons and implementation plans for NGSS. During the day, Kevin will first facilitate groups of teachers creating assessments based on an established vision of science instruction aligned to NGSS. We will then look at revisions needed to current lessons in relation to preparing students for this type of assessment, and collaboratively create new lessons. Finally, we will work together to create strategic plans to implement these new standards, building from our work on assessments and lessons. We will have specific time for middle school and high school discussions and networking, such as incorporating earth science at the high school, or planning interdisciplinary science at the middle school. While Kevin will provide resources and ideas, the majority of this day will be dedicated to creating, not sitting and getting.

Send a group of K-12 teachers to help support alignment!
