This study will be based on the 2nd Edition of Doug Fischer and Nancy Frey's book Better Learning Through Structured Teaching. We will learn about the four instructional phases and their importance. We will learn the importance of and how to deliver lessons that will better engage students, promote learning for all students, and motivate students to be more self-directed learners. The authors explore each phase, using real life examples. Your facilitator will share more videos of classrooms where gradual release is working, and your collegues will be trying and sharing things along with you to maximize examples across multiple subjects and contexts.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Teachers will learn about each phase of the gradual release of responsibility.
2. Teachers will be able to see video examples of classrooms and share across schools how the GRR framework is implemented for students to become more engaged, self-directed learners.
3. More deeply understand whys and hows of purposeful planning for the GRR.
