Description
Participants in this one-day course will access the Google Classroom and learn how to link assignments, grade assignments and set up a classroom for immediate use with students. This tool allows teachers to integrate their Google Documents easily and keep track of student progress.
Participants will discuss best practice examples and methodologies for assessing the impact of the Google tools, particularly Google Classroom, on instruction. Participants will use their new knowledge to develop a action plan incorporating Google Classroom into their classroom curriculum. This action plan and reflections will be due two weeks following the end of the class.
Students will come to CESA 12 for an 8-hour training day where they’ll learn how to use Google Classroom, integrate Google Docs, personalize Classroom, and grade assignments. Students will read, watch videos and participate in online discussions about the pros and cons pertaining to the use of the Classroom, complete readings and reflection, use Classroom with their students and write a reflection upon completing their first assignment given, complete an action plan and complete exit survey.
Instruction will be face-to-face and online, and will also include lecture, demonstration, synchronous and asynchronous discussions and individualized instruction in order to meet a variety of learning styles and skill levels. Participants will be asked to complete all assignments no later than 2 weeks past the face-to-face meeting.
Participants will use a minimum of 30 hours of face-to-face and personal instructional time to explore Google Classroom. Participants will be expected to complete activities and assignments in a timely manner. All assignments will be due two weeks after the course.
