Using a variety of behavioral strategies, parents will learn proactive ways to deal with their children, address behavior concerns and improve family relationships in the home.
Michele Yates-Wickus, Assistant Director of Special Education, CESA 5, and Coordinator for Alternative Schools, will guide parents and school team members through a process that will provide them with a general knowledge of why children may exhibit specific behavioral concerns. Being able to determine this helps in developing and implementing guidelines in the home to assist parents in dealing with sometimes difficult children.
Teams from individual school districts are encouraged to attend. Suggested teams might include a combination of the following members (Grades K-6); Parents (regular and special education), Administrators, Teachers (General and Special Education), Reading Specialists, Math Specialists, Staff from: Title 1, ELL, Gifted and Talented
PARENTS MAY ATTEND FREE OF CHARGE!
The use of training modules from the National Center for Special Education Accountability Monitoring (NCSEAM) or the Wisconsin Professional Development Model (WPDM) are used in all trainings.
