How can you best prepare students for the Smarter Balanced assessments coming this spring? How can you more meaningfully incorporate high level thinking into current textbook programs by linking to Webb's Depth of Knowledge and Blooms Taxonomy?  In this workshop we'll explore means to bring in more problems and assessments linked to the CCSS standards for mathematical practice, without just having a "problem of the week" structure. We'll explore Smarter Balanced examples along with loads of similar online resources.  We'll also discuss some disciplinary literacy strategies that could be helpful in mathematics, particularly in extended word problems.
