The Perkins Grant has major changes effective for the upcoming year. They include 1) no funding for student organizations; 2) no funding for capital items; and 3) a new funding allocation formula. Additionally, the Perkins budget and plan has been automated to use an integrated Excel™ file.
Come to the morning training on Monday, September 22 to receive the updated information; to begin to develop your district’s Perkins Plan; to network with your neighboring colleagues; and to initiate conversation on the development of Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) for CTE students. A light lunch will be provided at 11:30 to allow for early travel back to your district.
Please bring with you:
1. A laptop computer that has Excel™ loaded and is designed to copy files from a flash drive. Note: This is a Monday AM session – so take the laptop home on Friday.
2. A listing of your district’s published Programs of Study (https://www.wicareerpathways.org/)
3. A date/time that your district CTE Team will be meeting, following this session, to review Perkins changes.
Outcomes:
1. Attendees will become familiar with the Excel™ Perkins Plan & Budget file.
2. Attendees will leave with their district’s Perkins Plan started.
3. Attendees will review the Federal Core Indicators & State Performance Measures.
4. Attendees will gain funding strategies in light of changes.
5. Attendees will gain knowledge about the writing of SLOs for the CTE content disciplines.
