Learn (or review) the ways to accurately score and analyze the reading record to best meet the needs of your readers.

Description:
The running record does more than provide us with a reading level for our students! This workshop is designed to review best practices in administering, scoring and interpreting running records. Participants will go beyond the scores by identifying specific instructional supports for students.

Objectives:

  • Review best practices in administering and scoring running record
  • Analyze the running record miscue analysis
  • Explore the complexity of comprehension in a running record
  • Identify specific instructional supports for students based on running record results

Who should attend?
Elementary, middle and special education teachers (any teacher who uses any form of running records to assess student reading); reading teachers, coaches and specialists; and interventionists and principals desiring to understand the administration and use of running records.

There will also be a Question & Answer session from 2:30 - 3:00 pm
