Participant Outcomes
This session will build the capacity of school or district teams to establish/strengthen their selected and intensive levels of support for mathematics or reading. Teams will leave this one-day session with a facilitated process to use back in their school/district, and a toolkit of resources to guide future work.
Activities
- Identify the role and essential components of an effective and sustainable continuum of support in schools
- Access a toolkit of resources to review the following system components for providing additional support:
- Establishing collaborative structures
- Identifying interventions/additional challenges
- Planning logistics
- Digging deeper to understand underlying student needs
- Matching school supports to student needs
- Adjusting instruction based on student progress
- Evaluating and refining the process for providing additional support
- Experience a facilitated process of using the toolkit to establish / strengthen a team-selected system component
- Determine next steps to replicate and use facilitated processes and resources beyond this session
Intended Audience
District or school level RtI leadership teams, including administrators, instructional staff, pupil services, and parents. Administrator attendance is critical for support and sustainability.
Recommended Prerequisites
Teams that have completed the following will benefit most from this session:
1. A screening process in place for at least a year
2. Completion of the School-wide implementation Review (SIR) within the year
3. Attendance at both the Wisconsin RtI Center Framework Training and the Screening and Progress Monitoring sessions
Cost
$65 per person. Includes registration breakfast, networking lunch and materials.
