Volume 2 is the next four units in LETRS training. Participants must complete Volume 1 training before participating in Volume 2.

The second volume builds on the learning of the fundamentals of literacy skills addressed in the first four units. Participants will gain essential knowledge and skills for:

  • oral language and vocabulary instruction
  • reading comprehension
  • writing instruction

LETRS is an investment in teachers' literacy knowledge and professional practice. Teachers gain essential skills to master the fundamentals of literacy instruction required to apply and transform student learning. It is a curriculum-agnostic professional learning that dives into the what, why, and how around how children learn to read. It is grounded in decades of research informed by experts in multiple fields. LETRS provides the knowledge and tools teachers can use with any quality reading program.

Prerequisite: You must have attended and completed LETRS - Volume 1 to register for this class

The Motion 57, 8a grant for $4,000 supports districts' participation in LETRS training.

After completing all of the requirements for asynchronous and face-to-face training, participants will receive a certificate, which will be needed to claim the funds through WISEgrants.
