A maker space is so much more than a craft corner. Making not only builds practical skills but also develops an engineers mindset and boosts creativity and perseverance. Are you interested in creating or reimagining a classroom maker space? During this interactive virtual meeting, we will share fresh ideas for maker kits for your space that you can implement right away with little or no prep. We will also explore “take home / at home” making for remote learners. We will share successful ideas for getting support and funding for your space.
Learning outcomes include:
- Participants will create maker kits that can taken back to school to be used in their classroom or school maker space.
- Participants will explore several kits that may be checked out from the CESA 10 IMC that are appropriate for a maker space.
- Participants will discuss best practices for implementing maker activities in the classroom or media center.
