Cost: $1600 per team/team of up to 8 members; each additional member $100. Fee includes registration, networking lunch, materials and up to 6 hours of CESA support
Tier 2 Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Training prepares school teams to effectively and efficiently ad-dress the needs of students who benefit from supplemental sup-ports in addition to Tier 1. The Tier 2 team participates in four training days which consist of intense, interactive activities to develop and refine the systems, data, and practices necessary for sustainable Tier 2 implementation.
Objectives
- Define the six features of secondary/tier 2 interven-tions and the connection with universal/tier 1
- Analyze current interventions and articulate how they match features of secondary/tier 2 interventions
- Create a plan for how the team will develop or refine check-in check-out (CICO), modified CICO, social academic instruction groups (SAIGs), mentoring and brief behavior intervention plans (BIP) that include all six intervention features
- Create a plan to train, support and gather feedback from stakeholders including students, staff, families
- Practice systems-level discussions and decision-making that include intervention effectiveness, as-sessment data, and simple modifications to support for individuals and groups of students
Audience
School-based teams should include administrators, classroom teachers, pupil services staff, the Tier 1 internal coach and external coach.
Days 3 and 4 to be scheduled at a later time.
