This session provides an in-depth look at what we know about the importance of creating “neural pathways” in the brain, and how that translates into practical classroom application in beginning reading instruction. In this informative, practical, hands-on session, we will explore:

· Findings from brain imaging studies that are providing new insights into beginning reading instruction

· How research translates into best practices in the classroom

· This session will also address oral language and phonological awareness for the interests of the play-based 4K

Presenter: Deb Hoesterey

Cost: $50/person for SI Members, $150/person for Non-SI Members
