The CESA 8 Leadership in Literacy Institute fulfills the criteria for ACT 20 training required for elementary principals and district reading specialists. Curriculum directors, special education directors, and school psychologists are encouraged to attend with their literacy team.  The institute encompasses six days of face-to-face training plus 4 additional free 30-minute virtual coaching check in sessions. District teams will engage in:

  • John Maxwell Methods of Leadership

  • Evidence-aligned, systematic, structured literacy training designed specifically for school administrators and literacy leadership teams

  • Activities to implement evidence-aligned systems and structures that elicit change 

  • Continuous improvement planning 

  • Support for implementation of ACT 20

  • Presentations from Dr. Nell Thompson and Dr. Terrie Noland from the Transformative Reading Group

Districts within the CESA will take priority in registration. Enrollment is limited.

Training is in person but may include some online learning.

Cost: $2500 for CIA member teams of 4; $625 for each additional team member 

$2995 for non-CIA members or districts outside of CESA 8 teams of 4; $750 for each additional team member

When you register it will come up with the price for 4 registrants, I will change the next 3 to $0 and any after that the correct amount.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 8 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs. Please make sure all of your contact information is correct in myQuickReg.com. DIETARY ACCOMMODATIONS: Due to varied dietary restrictions, CESA 8 cannot guarantee that all special dietary accommodations can be met. CESA 8 makes every effort to accommodate basic dietary restrictions with advance notice, but please plan accordingly.
