We are excited to host a book talk about the math practices outlined in the transformational Building Thinking Classrooms by Peter Liljedahl. Math educators all over the country are in love with this book!  Liljedah’s practices are second to none when it comes to engaging students. Join us for an in-depth discussion about how and why these 14 practices engage students. Be ready to learn practices that will change your math instruction forever! Look forward to talking and networking with teachers who have implemented these practices in their classrooms and discover why they will never go back to their old ways.

This Book Talk Workshop is a good fit for those who want to make their math classroom come alive with conjecture, student-student dialogue, reasoning, collaboration, modeling, and perseverance!

• Experience the 14 Practices from the student perspective
• Discuss the transformation that can occur with the practices in the book
• Explore implementation strategies for some or all of the practices

Date:  Wed., August 2, 2023

Time:  8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

In-Person Location:  CESA 6 Conference Center, 2300 State Road 44, Oshkosh

In-Person Cost:  $150 per person (The book is not included. The cost does include breakfast snacks, lunch, and beverages)

Virtual Participation: A Zoom link will be emailed to you on the morning of the workshop.

Virtual Cost:  $130 per person

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full conference fee refund to be issued (full refunds do not include service fees. Service fees are nonrefundable).Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
