Developing Student Critical Thinking Skills Workshop Series

April 23, 2020
9am-3pm

Problem-solving is grounded in logical thinking.  Often we hear that problem-solving requires critical thinking.  What is critical thinking and can it really be taught? Critical thinking is clear, rational, logical and independent. In this workshop, participants will learn and practice strategies for analyzing, assessing, and reconstructing how we think.  Critical thinking requires discipline. Discipline takes practice. We will practice mindful forms of communication, problem-solving, and a freedom from any bias tendency.

Workshop objectives:

  • Learn strategies for teaching critical thinking skills
  • Practice strategies for teaching critical thinking skills
  • Design lessons to make them engaging for your students
  • Learn a process to build a thinking classroom
  • Build a network of critical thinkers

Cost:

  •  $150/person; $125/person for ESSA Consortium member districts
  •  Fee includes, Materials, snacks and lunch for both days
