In this two—day virtual institute, we will introduce you to a system for teaching students that creates authentic experiences in reading, thinking, talking, writing, and reflecting. You will join grade-level colleagues in interactive and engaging break out sessions to take a deep dive into the structures and practices of multiple instructional contexts. Finally, we will explore how to develop coherence in the literacy learning of every student across the grades.
 

INSTITUTE OBJECTIVES

  • Explore the underpinnings of Fountas & Pinnell (F&P) Classroom
  • Acquire a classroom guide to assessment
  • Understand how to teach Interactive Read Aloud, Reading Mini-lessons, Shared Reading, Phonics, Spelling and Word Study, and Guided Reading
  • Learn how to set up, manage, and evaluate Book Clubs
  • Understand how to set up and manage Reader’s Notebook

DATES / TIMES:  

  • DAY 1:  August 11th from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
  • DAY 2:  August 12th from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

 

REGISTRATION FEE:  $150 per participant

Cancellation Policy: Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before the event in order for a full refund to be issued. Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance at any of the sessions will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any event due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
