Come and join us at CESA 4 for our Geocaching event! Students will use technology, engineering, and coding to investigate how GPS systems work, learn how to program and plot their own geocache, and spend time outside searching for area caches. Students will also design their own cache and a series of clues in order to apply and share their new skills in a creative way with their classmates back at their school. This Community-Based Learning opportunity aligns to Wisconsin Science and Social Studies Academic Standards as well as ISTE Standards for Students. Participants are encouraged to dress according to the weather as there will be exploration outdoors and bring cell phones, if available. Advisors are invited to learn alongside their students for this engaging and active learning opportunity.
Cost for the event is $100.00 for teams of up to 4 students and 1 adult advisor or $50.00 for #310 and #320 member schools: Arcadia, Blair-Taylor, Cashton, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, Independence, La Crosse, Sparta, Tomah, Viroqua, and West Salem.

Participant Cancellation Policy:
You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
Dietary Restrictions:
Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.
Weather Conditions:
If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.
Additional Accommodations:
If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated.
