Primary, intermediate and middle school-level teachers face an important challenge: teaching students how to write, while supporting their developing identity as writers. Many teachers find that utilizing a Writer’s Workshop instructional framework can help meet this challenge. Sessions within this series will focus on the instructional framework of Writer’s Workshop and methods for supporting learning through whole group, small group, and individual instructional contexts, in order to meet the diverse needs of all writers.

THIS WORKSHOP SERIES IS A GOOD FIT FOR:

K – 8th grade teachers using the Teachers College Writing Units of Study, reading specialists, literacy coaches, instructional leaders, and principals.



PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING:

  • Lucy Calkins Writing Units of Study Kit (entire kit)



REGISTRATION FEE: $325 per participant for series

  • Includes access to online materials and resources and lunch at each session.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full refund to be issued. Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
