Gifted and Talented Student Filmmaking Series - with Charis Collins!
Charis Collins has worked for several years with Gifted/Talented students and Arts Integration in public schools. She wrote and helped to produce "North Passage," an independent film that made its debut at the Flyway Film Festival in Pepin, WI and continues to contribute to short films like "Onere," which has won top prizes at film festivals all over the world.
Teams of middle school and high school students will be provided the opportunity to engage in a three-day workshop on film making. Students will have the chance to apply their new knowledge to direct, film, and edit their own movies! The series will provide an opportunity for teachers to participate alone with their student teams, so the educators will be able to take their learning back to their schools and provide exposure to similar learning experiences for other students.
This event is a three-part series offered by CESA #4. This event is free for MVGTN Member Districts and $150.00 for teams of up to 4 students and 1 adult advisor for non-member districts. Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided on-site.
Participant Cancellation Policy:
You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
Dietary Restrictions:
Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.
Weather Conditions:
If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.
Additional Accommodations:
If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated.
