What children ask, say, or do about their identities and differences and the differences of others, are the wonderful "teachable moments" of anti-bias education. How we as educators respond to these opportunities is instrumental in helping young children navigate the complex issues of identity, diversity, prejudice, and power in their daily lives.
In addition to timely networking topics and updates, the 2018-19 Early Childhood Network series will explore principles of anti-bias education and effective classroom strategies aimed at helping young children build social-emotional competency, make families feel welcome and nurture children's' development of positive self-identity.
This series is designed to equip early educators to confidently, powerfully and competently responding to issues of diversity and elevate their capacity for helping young children make sense of the confusing and often emotionally charged messages they receive about themselves and others.

Participants not paying via credit card will be invoiced after the event.
Participant Cancellation Policy:
You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
Dietary Restrictions:
Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.
Weather Conditions:
If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.
Additional Accommodations:
If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated.
