When teachers tell disengaged students to just try harder, they assume that effort is the key to success. This isn’t always true. Come discover why learners are reluctant and how to help them find success. As a result of this workshop, teachers will walk away with strategies to help all students engage in learning and become lifelong learners.
Outcomes:
- Understand the difference between a “growth” mindset and a “fixed” mindset and the impact it can have on learning.
- Discover how to help reluctant learners develop self-efficacy, the belief that they can accomplish meaningful tasks.
- Build a repertoire of strategies to build individual relationships with all learners.
- Learn engagement strategies that will help reluctant students in the classroom embrace the learning process.
