9:00 AM - 11:00 AM - Dana Miller, Wisconsin ICAC Task Force Division of Criminal Investigation will present on internet safety. Please see the following description: Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat – we’ve heard of these. What about WhatsApp, Yellow, YouNow, or Skout? Our kids are active participants in sharing their news & lives online. With new popular apps being downloaded every day, how can adults keep up? This session will provide an overview of information on the good and the bad about social media, current trends and issues, and ways we can educate and communicate with young people on safe and proper use.
11:00 - noon - DPI liaison will join us and fill us in on statewide updates.
12:00 - Lunch
For the afternoon, we will engage in a book study of the Reefer Sanity.
Learning outcomes include:
- Participants will gain awareness of internet apps that are popular with students.
- Participants will learn internet safety strategies to teach students.
- Participants will get updates on Title IV-A funding.
- Participants will review the first two chapters of the book, Reefer Sanity.
