Description
Career Cruising is a web-based career exploration and planning system that helps students plan their futures. Students can use assessment tools to determine which career is the best fit for them, then explore detailed occupation profiles and examine comprehensive post-secondary education information.  This  tool will be used by school districts in Wisconsin to support the overall delivery of Academic and Career Planning (ACP).

Workshop objectives

  • Career Advisor Management System (CAMS) tools for managing student ACP portfolio work
  • Establishing counselor/advisor and teacher student group lists and related management functions
  • Exploration of individual and aggregate student data reports and how the data can be used
  • Examination of the recommended ACP Completion Standards, including the related Reflect & Confirm functionality and modifying the recommended standards
  • Accessing and using the new Help Desk section of Career Cruising, including Users Guides, Classroom Activities, Webinar Recordings, and other available educator resources
  • College and Scholarship Application management tools in CAMS
  • The Student Surveying Capability through CAMS
  • Parent/Guardian Portal - administration and strategies to engage parents
  • The Inspire Business and Industry Connection (this will be covered in the CESA regions in which Inspire will be active during the 2017-18 school year
  • Best Practices discussion and sharing ideas
  • Time for Questions & Answers throughout the session

Registration fee:

Ö $24 per person (please no cash payments will be accepted)

Ö Registration is limited to no more than 5 people per district

Ö Fee includes materials, continental breakfast and lunch

Who should attend? Grades 6-12 district ACP teams/school administrators, teachers; grades 6-12 school staff designated as trainers for the Career Cruising sotware in their buildings; and post-secondary staff/partners engaged in ACP development with the school districts.

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full conference fee refund to be issued (full refunds do not include service fees. Service fees are nonrefundable).Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
