Writing Across the Curriculum in Grades K-5

Even in the early grades, students are expected to write across the curriculum, and providing multiple opportunities for writing in narrative, opinion, and informative text is vital to develop student writers.  In this hands-on, interactive workshop, the presenter will explore differentiated instruction techniques for transcription skills development and then transition into a discussion of fundamental annotating strategies.  Participants will examine elements of the three genres: narrative, opinion, and informative text. They will examine the specific skills to be developed for writing in each genre and practice with techniques designed to build the students’ genre-writing skills.  They will practice with the strategies introduced and take home strategies to try the very next day in their classrooms.

Early Bird Registration (must register by November 1, 2017 for discount)
$125 per person for any CESA 8 CIA or Literacy Center Member School District. $150 after 11/1/17.
$250 per person for non-member school districts; $300 if registered after 11/1/17

Due to the expense of bringing in this National Speaker any cancellations within 5 days of presentation will be charged a percentage of the registration fee. Any/all no-shows will be charged the full amount.
 

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee.
