Note: This event is a three-day series - Oct 19, Dec 18, Feb 26

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework for thinking about designing lessons, instruction, and learning environments.  UDL is based on intentional consideration of the variability in all learners, anticipation of barriers in the learning of each student, and planning learning experiences accordingly.  There is no such word as “can’t” in a UDL classroom, and the three guiding principles within the UDL framework support not only struggling students, but all students in the classroom.  This workshop will provide an overview of what UDL is, learn the guiding principles, and begin to apply this thinking to lesson planning and instructional practice.

Participants will develop an understanding of UDL and begin to apply core principles to lesson planning and instruction.  The time between workshop sessions will allow participants to practice understandings of UDL in their classroom and share experiences at the following session.
