In this workshop, Frank Serafini will lead us on an exploration of digital text features being used in contemporary classrooms, and the resources available for reading, sharing, discussing and analyzing print-based, digital and multimodal texts. Attendees will be directly involved in exploring various digital and on-line resources during this workshop. Wikis, Blogs, Bookmarking Tools, and Aggregators will be just some of the digital resources we will explore.

The Outcomes

Participants will be able to strategically bring more digital text into their teaching without sacrificing sound instructional principles or practices. To that end, participants will leave this workshop with a wide range of new tools and approaches to bring to their classrooms.

Who Should Attend?

Teachers (classroom, special education, support specialists) of grades 6–12, reading specialists, literacy and instructional leaders, and principals.

Participants, please bring:

A tablet or laptop for hands–on work throughout the session.
