Why Computer Science? All students should have the opportunity to learn the skills they may need in future job opportunities. Computer Science helps students gain skills in problem solving, and helps nurture creativity. Code.org has created a one-day training for K-5 teachers to understand how they can bring coding to their classroom with both online and hands-on activities. In this one day training from an experienced computer science facilitator you will get an introduction to computer science, understand the pedagogy of the curriculum, learn the teacher dashboard, and even understand how to do "unplugged" activities. Learn more here: https://code.org/educate/professional-learning/cs-fundamentals-onepager.pdf

Learning outcomes include:

  1. Teachers will gain a better understanding of computer science.
  2. Teachers will be able to implement computer science into their classroom.
