Common units. Common Student Learning Objectives. Common Assessments. Professional growth derived from working with other teachers to figure out how to maximize student achievement. Sounds great, but how do you participate in a content-focused PLC when you are the only Biology teacher in your district?  With the help of technology and a little networking, content-based collaboration is possible. We welcome you to CESA 10 this fall to begin your journey on the path to true collaboration outside the bounds of your school district. What to bring: your cytology unit, your textbook and a desire to improve the academic achievement of your students. Come alone and network with other science teachers or bring a teacher from a neighboring district. You will learn how to collaborate without meeting face to face, how to evaluate progress from afar, and how to continue planning future units while tapping into the collective wisdom of one another.

Learning outcomes include:

  • Teachers will understand how a PLC can exist ith other science teachers across our rural region.
  • Teachers will have the opportunity to plan for sustained collaboration using a virtual learning community.

This PLC is offered at no cost to those districts participating in LS1.  The cost for all others to attend will be $350 per participant.  Invoicing for this event will be adjusted once all 2017-18 CESA 10 Service Contracts have been received.

Teacher Standards
