About the Event

This statewide training will provide learning opportunities around areas identified by participants who attended regional trainings around the state of Wisconsin. Participants will also have an opportunity to build knowledge/skills that will assist them in implementing best practices within their respective programs.

This training provides a forum for Home School/Title VII Indian Education/Johnson O'Malley Coordinators and Program Staff from around the state of Wisconsin to engage in discussion, collaborate, and develop a network of support. 
 

Learning Objectives

As a result of participating in this statewide training, participants will:

  • Have a better understanding of how to serve their American Indian student population through broadened knowledge, skills and relevant insights.
  • Receive valuable information in areas specified during needs assessments at regional trainings that took place in March 2017.
  • Collaborate with individuals in similar positions to share best practices, ideas, and research on their programming.
  • Share work experiences and stories throughout the day-long conversation.
  • Discover and examine ways to transform our school environments for American Indian students, families, and communities.

A block of rooms have been reserved at The Plaza Hotel & Suites for the night of April 23, 2017.  Complete this form by April 13, 2017 to request lodging. The Disproportionality Technical Assistance Network ("The Network") grant will cover one night of lodging for individuals traveling 90 miles or more. Double occupancy is encouraged for those coming from the same agency, tribe, or district.

Registration, Fees, and Schedule

There are no fees associated with this training, but pre-registration is REQUIRED. The Disproportionality Technical Assistance Network ("The Network") grant will cover mileage reimbursement per participant.
