Registration begins at 8:30, our session will begin promptly at 9:00.

Rather than a traditional meeting, we will have a representative from the SSPW (Student Service Prevention and Wellness) team join us to present the Department's School-Based Suicide Prevention Training. The workshop helps participants understand the scope of youth suicide and what schools can do to reduce suicidal acts and thoughts among students. Participants learn about the prevalance of youth suicide, risk and protective factors, comprehensive prevention programs and crisis intervention. Attendees are encouraged to bring their suicide crisis response plans for discussion and revision.

Learning outcomes include:

Participants will understand the prevalence of youth suicide.
Participants will discuss legal requirements.
Participants will gain knowledge and skills to improve classroom instruction at the middle and high school level.
