WASHBURN ACADEMY: Assessment Design

Assessment design of student achievement should be in balance and be used strategically to support student learning. This workshop presents a framework for considering strategic assessment types and how to create and use them in the classroom. The workshop is designed for all subject areas, K—12. Strategic assessment requires student learning targets derived from larger goals or standard, and formative and summative assessment tools and experiences for students that match intended learning outcomes.
Participants will learn:
- A framework for balancing different types of assessment
- How to create and use learning targets in classroom lessons
- How to coordinate formative and summative assessments
- How to create classroom tests (focusing on multiple choice questions and constructed response questions)
- How to design performance assessment tasks and rubric
WORKSHOP FEE: $230.00 | UP TO 3 GRADUATE CREDITS AVAILABLE AT AN ADDITIONAL $130.00 EACH
