School Counselor Share Shop
School counselors you are in for a treat!
During this share shop, we are fortunate to have Sue McKenzie from Roger's Memorial Hospital and a WISE Wisconsin representative here to train us to facilitate "Honest, Open, Proud: To Eliminate the Stigma of Mental Illness" small group discussions. There is a workbook to guide this work with small groups or individual students. Honest, Open, Proud is designed to help students look at the story they have been telling themselves, discern helpful and hurtful self-attitudes, and analyze the pros and cons of disclosing in different settings to different people. Lastly, it guides them to draft their won story into a format that discloses not only the pain of mental helath challenges but also the internal and external resources discovered and used to live life in the way the choose.
