Informed Assessment for Mathematics Instruction
Math Recovery® programs identify and overcome core problems when young students struggle to learn and apply even the simplest numerical concepts. The objective is to intervene as early and quickly as possible before these at-risk students fall too far behind their peers. These two courses; AVMR 1 and AVMR 2 focus on using data to differentiate and inform whole classroom and small group instruction and to pinpoint individual student understanding with shorter assessments.

What Teachers Gain from Add+Vantage MR Courses. . .

  • Detailed understanding of how children develop early numeracy and how to maximize learning potential
  • Efficient, diagnostic, and dynamic assessments
  • Tools to support data-driven instruction
  • Practice administering and analyzing assessments in collegial teams
  • Differentiated instructional activities for targeted needs
  • Strategies to deliberately engender more sophisticated strategies
  • Reflective assessment and teaching practices
