CANCELLED: Inquiring Minds Want To Know

Research shows that units designed around an inquiry arc maximize students’ content-area learning, as well as increase student achievement and engagement for all students in grades K-12. This workshop will provide middle and high school teachers with models, strategies and protocols for crafting and sustaining Inquiry-based units and mini-units that will deepen student learning of their content. Bring your curriculum map, (or a current unit in need of a little pizzazz), and leave with a new plan in mind.

Outcomes:

• View examples of high quality Inquiry-Based Units
• Identify key parts of your curriculum that can be used to frame individual as well as small-group inquiries
• Learn the Stages and Roles for implementing a Small-Group Curricular Inquiry
• Learn protocols and procedures to ensure that small group work is productive, and students are accountable for their work.

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received by the registration deadline date stated on the event for a refund to be issued. Persons registering and not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee (substitutions are accepted). CESA 12 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email or phone if a cancellation occurs.

Weather conditions:
